Neal Shah (CEO of Careyaya) Featured on The Hill's "Raising America" Podcast

We're excited to announce that CareYaya founder Neal Shah was recently featured on "Raising America," a NewsNation podcast hosted by Elizabeth Prann and featured on The Hill. In this compelling conversation, Neal shared his vision for transforming America's broken caregiving system and why CareYaya exists to bridge the gap between what families need and what our current system provides.

Addressing the Cost-Quality Crisis

Neal didn't hold back when discussing one of the healthcare industry's most troubling contradictions. "I think that's a big problem, that the cost of care is too high, but the quality of care is low because the worker is getting less than half of what you're paying," he explained. This fundamental disconnect, where families pay exorbitant rates while caregivers struggle financially, is precisely what inspired him to create CareYaya Health Technologies.

Building a Health-Tech Platform for Change

CareYaya isn't just another caregiving service. As Neal described on the podcast, it's a health-tech platform designed to address critical gaps in our healthcare system by connecting families with health-focused student caregivers. This innovative model expands access to affordable, in-home care while simultaneously building a pipeline of future healthcare workers—a direct response to the national caregiver shortage that threatens to grow more severe in coming years.

A Personal Mission Born from Tragedy

The most powerful moment of the interview came when Neal addressed end-of-life care in America. "When you survey older adults and even middle-aged people, how do you want to die? Over 80 percent of them say, in my home, surrounded by family," he shared. "When you observe the people that died last year, how did they die? Less than 20% of them, most of them died in bright frost or lights at the hospital, on a bunch of machinery. And I think that is a freaking tragedy, you know. So, we don't do end of life care well."

This stark gap between how Americans want to spend their final days and how they actually experience them drives Neal's work every single day. CareYaya exists to help close that gap—to make dignified, home-based care accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford premium services.
