CareYaya families are responsible for paying the caregiver directly by cash, check or Venmo at the end of the care session.

How Payment Works Through CareYaya

CareYaya connects families with student caregivers to help with family care, including elderly and family members with disabilities. We do this free of charge, with no contracts or subscription fees, as a public service to the people of the Carolinas to expand access to affordable elder care.

Please note: While the CareYaya site is free to use, the caregivers actually need to be paid! In order to save you from credit card & transaction processing fees, CareYaya allows the family to pay the caregiver directly. Most families pay in cash or check, or Venmo (free peer-to-peer payments) or some other mutually agreeable payment method. At the end of your care session, please make sure to pay the caregiver the appropriate amount based on their hourly rate and hours served. Thank you!
